"WHY" Present Day Nomad

Maybe you have thoughts about starting a new camping adventure, taking up backpacking or trying out a new fishing hole.

So like many do, you head over to the local outdoor shop, REI, Cabela's, Bass Pro or what ever is the closest. You decide to take a stroll over to the backpacks because, hey - you're going to need to carry all of the new gear you plan on buying.

And it's a wall full of blacks, blues, browns, and greens. There are six different styles for every type and...what's this? They're sized in liters? The only time we think about liters is how many 2-liter bottles of Dr. Pepper we need to include for the pizza party.

Now let's say you finally settle and choose a backpack. What other gear do I need to buy for a camping trip? A sleeping bag for sure. Well, that's just a heavy blanket with a zipper, so that might be easier to decide.

Now you're surrounded by boxes and displays of all sorts and hanging on the wall is a polyester bookshelf of bags that cost anywhere from $100 to $400 and it's "temperature rated" for 20 degrees? You haven't even booked a weekend on the calendar yet, let alone looked at the weather.

It can all be so overwhelming.

Listen, we've been there too. It can be a lot to take in, and if you buy the wrong thing, your hard-earned money gets spent on a bunch of stuff that you're going to sell at the next garage sale for 10 bucks.
